The Equity Leadership Project is a collaborative research team striving to understand how to lead in ways that make public school systems racially equitable. Researchers from three universities have teamed up with three PreK-12 public school districts to explore leadership for equity firsthand.
How do district administrators’ equity leadership activities account for context?
How do equity leadership activities spread within districts?
How and in what ways does equity leadership inform district organizational change?

The Equity Leadership Research Project is collaboratively led by Drs. Decoteau Irby (University of Illinois at Chicago), Terrance Green (University of Texas at Austin), and Ann Ishimaru (University of Washington) and is supported by graduate research assistants across the three participating universities. This project was awarded a prestigious Spencer Foundation grant to conduct the research. All expenses related to the research will be covered by the grant.
